ŌRA STORY

How can we show up for the world when we cannot even show up for ourselves?

We live in a world that asks a lot of us. We move quickly, carry multiple responsibilities and spend much of our time responding to what needs our attention on the outside while becoming deaf to what is happening within.

Over time, when we continually use our energy without creating space to restore it, our capacity begins to change.

ŌRA was created in 2022 from a belief that wellbeing doesn't require us to step away from daily life or constantly add more to it. It begins with becoming more aware of how we are living, what supports us, and what depletes us.

ŌRA is a space to explore a different way of being, one that makes room for awareness, connection and restoration alongside everything life asks of us.

THE ŌRA FRAMEWORK

A different way to wellbeing

Awareness

We begin with awareness.
Becoming more attuned to what is happening within and the subtle changes of the body and mind. By learning to listen rather than override, we understand what we truly need to feel calmer, more present and less stressed.

Connection

We cultivate connection.
Through simple and accessible tools,
we reconnect with ourselves and our natural rhythms, creating a bridge between the demands of modern life and the intelligence of the body.

Restoration

We make space for restoration.
Wellbeing is about how we understand, use and replenish our energy. By creating regular practices to recover and recharge, we protect our capacity for what matters and cultivate sustainable energy, vitality and resilience.

Meet Julie

I’m Julie, a mother of two, born in France and living overseas for the past 13 years. Burnout and motherhood have changed the way I understand wellbeing.

They’ve made me more aware of the tension between caring for our work, caring for others and caring for ourselves and how easily we can lose touch with what we need in the process.

They’ve also taught me that wellbeing isn’t about doing more classes, following more routines or adding more to an already full life.

Sometimes, we first need to slow down enough to notice what is happening within us and listen to what is asking for our attention.

This is at the heart of my work:

Creating space to pause, listen and release through simple tools and practices, so you can better understand what you need and make choices that are more aligned with how you want to live and feel.

Training and experience

My work brings together more than a decade of study, practice and teaching across breathwork, nervous-system education, yoga, somatic practices, stress management and Reiki.

I have trained with experienced teachers across these fields and continue to deepen my learning through ongoing study, practice and teaching, working with individuals, schools, studios and organisations, adapting these practices to different needs and environments.

HOW ŌRA WORKS

From doing to being

Wellbeing is not about finding the latest practice or keeping up with the latest biohack. It’s about discovering what works for us and building our own toolbox.

Our needs change with our bodies, our circumstances and the different seasons of life. What supports us at one point may not be what we need at another.

At ŌRA, we believe true wellbeing begins with awareness: noticing how we live, how we feel, what affects our energy, and how our body and mind respond.

Through practice, we can develop greater awareness, learn to regulate and restore, and discover tools that become part of everyday life.

In that sense, the role of a practitioner is to create the conditions for you to listen, explore and discover what genuinely supports and restores you.
